New Energy Nexus Ventures (NEX Ventures) manages funds that invest in climate tech companies based in Southeast Asia.

Our journey began in 2020 with the Indonesia 1 Fund, a pioneering catalytic fund specializing in early-stage investments in clean energy startups in Indonesia. Building on this, we continue our investment journey with NEXCatalyst — a regional investment fund for scalable early stage climate tech companies across Indonesia, Vietnam, and the Philippines—advancing the region's transition to net zero.

  • Indonesia 1 Fund
Supported by the IKEA Foundation, Indonesia 1 Fund is a pioneering catalytic fund that aimed to de-risk for follow on investors, and address early stage funding gaps of clean energy startups in Indonesia.

    Funding Factsheet
  • NEXCatalyst Climate Tech Fund
NEXCatalyst is a Southeast Asia-wide, blended investment fund designed to bridge the ‘Missing Middle’ investability gap and unleash impactful growth from climate tech sectors in Southeast Asia, especially in Vietnam, Indonesia, and the Philippines ("V-I-P").

US$3 trillion investment required by 2030
for Southeast Asia to be on track to 1.5°C pathway

We start with Southeast Asia, a major carbon emitting and climate-vulnerable region, where huge opportunities lie within its expansive market.

In pursuit of the 1.5°C target, startups play a pivotal role. Yet, climate startups in Southeast Asia are wrestling with barriers to secure the capital they need to scale. Our mission is to bridge this gap.
